Our Goat Milk

Is this raw goat milk safe?

From a holistic approach, yes! The goats at Windy Haven Farm are ADGA registered and belong to a “clean herd”. This means that they are regularly tested and treated with preventative measures for communicable livestock diseases and parasites. All the goats are tested, regardless of whether or not they are currently producing milk. All milk collected is done using “clean catch” methods with sanitized equipment and filtration systems. Our herd receives regular vet checks, and the milk is regularly tested.

We currently have a pet feed license and are able to sell raw goat milk for the use of animal feed. Goat milk is naturally rich in prebiotics and probiotics making it a great option to add to the food of dogs with sensitive stomachs it also makes a great natural milk-replacement for livestock bottle babies.

We are currently applying for grants and seeking funding options to start up a micro-dairy to sell raw goat milk for human consumption as well. Goat milk is one of our 3 core ingredients for our skin care and home care products.

Benefits of Raw Goat Milk for Skin Care:

Goats milk naturally has lots of the vitamins E and A as well as enzymes that help with various skin ailments.

  • As a cold cream/facial it can help with wrinkles, dark circles and bags under the eyes.

  • It is believed to be beneficial for eczema, wrinkles, acne and severely dry or chapped skin.

  • It can be mixed with a base to make a facial mask (bentonite clay, avacado ect.).

Our Goats' Milk Lotions and Creams for Skin Care

Our lotions and creams are "live culture". This means that we do no pasteurize the milk before making our procuts. This is so that all the naturally-occurring vitamins, minerals and enzymes in the goat’s milk remains in the lotion. Most commercial shelf-stable or over-the-counter goat milk lotions have preservatives and additional, unnecessary, chemicals added to them which causes the goat milk to lose its health benefits. Our lotion has the least amount of preservatives possible to sustain shelf life without compromising the natural benefits. This lotion is only shelf-stable for up to 6-9 months but refrigeration will extend its life.

What is the difference between lotion and cream? Lotion is thinner and more diluted for use in a pump bottle and cream is thicker and does better in a jar.

We take pride in our ingredients and work hard to provide safe and hypoallergenic products.

That being said, there is always a chance someone could be allergic to an ingredient in our products, which is why we offer free samples! This gives you the opportunity to try smaller amounts of the product (we recommend the back of the hand or a small patch on the arm); to ensure that our products will meet your needs! We also do custom orders to remove allergens (ie nut-based oils) from products.

All our other ingredients in our products are organic, naturally derived and whenever possible, locally sourced!
